The last day on the Rez
Well folks, we have had a great week on Pine Ridge Reservation. The last day was a good closing. We finished the back room at the ABOUT group/Lakota Crafters Co-op – We finished the drywall mud, wired the lights, and put on a coat of primer paint. We helped serve lunch to people off the street, and we had a pow-wow with the director of ABOUT/555/LCC/Green Tipi Gardens, Mr. Bruce Bonfleur.
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get back to Mr. Slowbear’s because of the rain the previous night, so there is half a outhouse hole to be dug. But this week has seen a tremendous change in the place, as you can see in the pictures previously posted.
We have had the best VBS yet this year. The kids have gotten to know and respect us now, and they also are respecting each-other more. In the past years, Friday has been 200% chaos. This year we had 50% chaos. We have been able to form personal relationships with a few of the kids, and we have seen growth in many. Praise the Lord for the work he is doing in Oglala.
