The Lord prepares the way for those who follow Him, part II

2008 July 14

Well, this all happened a week ago. Now we are staying with friends in the Black Hills, but I’ll tell about that in order.

After we helped the truck driver that was placed in our path, we headed up into White Clay, NE. The only thing we knew was that we had a meeting at 12 Noon with Mr. Bruce BonFleur, which we were already 45 minutes late for. We drove into the small town, and pulled into a parking area on the side of a large building. That building is the main base of 555 White Clay/the ABOUT Group. (I wrote about them in another post.) We had no idea what we would be doing that week, or where we would be staying. Mr. BonFleur wasted no time in giving us a job, and when he found out we were planning on sleeping in tents, he gave us a place to stay in a neat old parsonage just south of White Clay. The Lord provided for us again.

We had our choice of jobs at 555, and we choose to start fixing up a back room for a t-shirt printing studio for Native American artists. It had been used for storing tools, a desk, and various items that needed sorted for the thrift store. Four of our crew worked for the week on clearing out the stuff, pulling down the old paneling, and raising drywall. Two of us sorted out a large room full of thrift store donations, and feeding the people on the street on Thursday and Friday.

The Lord blessed the drywall team with a team spirit, and we were able to get a lot done in that week. We also made a few new friends, and were able to renew friendships we have made in the past. All-in-all, we were blessed to be there.
